i watch their videos solely w/ my sib, they’re genuinely hilarious but idk much about them as People

they seem nice! idk them! I think Noel is hot! that’s about it on my end lmao

Cody seems to have (had?) a series of videos titled That’s Cringe, where they make fun of shit. it’s funny. I haven’t watched any except this one:

i’m ngl man, that shit is 16:51 minutes of hilarity. I watched it for the 1st time w/ my sibling 2 years ago. wasn’t expecting much, but it made me laugh really fuckin hard.

a part of this video went extremely viral too, this one:

they absolutely roasted the shit out of this guy Dre Drexler. like really, demolished this dude. i will admit, I thought it was warranted.

watch the video. you’ll see what I mean. no excuses for me tho, it’s... it’s pretty mean. but a train wreck that u can’t stop watching.

watched it, laughed my ass off, never thought about it again.

sibling came over yday, put on some Noel videos (cause idm him, he’s hot), & we watched this one again. i googled Dre Drexler and saw he made a reaction video to it!

441K views. Nothing compared to the 26m.

see, i didn’t like Dre in the video they make fun of him. he is the antithesis of everything i believe in, I’ll admit.

for the rest of this thread to make sense, i would def recommend watching the two videos.

regardless, he made the reaction video a year after the OG cringe video went viral.

he doesn’t look like the same person in the second video.

both videos are about his EPIC morning routine. the second one is too, it’s just not in caps anymore.

if you’re on YouTube at all, you’ll know “reaction videos” are usually a verbal response, a person talking into the camera, and that’s what I expected. Whining, moaning, etc.

except that’s not what I got at all

the second video is the exact same video as the first one, it’s a morning routine video

except Dre took every. single. critique. every single thing they mocked. and made the video better.

he doesn’t even bring them up! Not ONCE!

instead of bitching as he would be JUSTIFIED TO DO, as he got absolutely wrecked on the internet, he just took the video calling him cringe as critique, and made a BETTER VIDEO.

you can tell he is 100% more genuine and sincere in the second video than the one they made fun of.

my favorite thing of all is that he ends the video saying:

“remember guys, do you... remain authentic to who you are, regardless of what people say or think about you... even if you get roasted by a couple other youtubers, I mean... idk”

and takes a sip from a CODY KO MUG

the mug says “DAMN YOU DRE DREXLER”

in the video they also made fun for at least 3-4 minutes about him eating a walnut salad. so the end credits actually roll with him... his mug... and a walnut salad.

i have never been more impressed by someone’s grace & class

Dre:
• took a year to respond to a video personally mocking him
• didn’t respond to a single mean thing they might have said about him
• made the exact same video, taking every mean comment as constructive critique and made an EVEN better video

• found critique that wasn’t explicit but implicit

eg: they explicitly commented on how many “dick shots” he had. (shots focused on his abs that happened to show...). he actively takes shots in the second one that show his abs but don’t fixate on his ~package~

they implicitly critique his inauthenticity. it does seem extremely unlikely that someone lives their days out the way he does. they don’t say this, it’s just the vibe of the entire cringe video. i felt it too! it just felt like he was lying!

in the new video, he makes an effort to be more genuine about how often he’s able to do everything he has lined up for his mornings. what his actual values and goals are. how he is trying every day to build himself and the people around him up, as much as he can.

i just found it so incredibly impressive to take something that could destroy your self image on the chin, and attempt to make yourself better.

his response video was authentic because he was doing *exactly* what he claimed to want to do with his life by making the video.

Dre Drexler, with his marvel villain ass name, made me genuinely regret just writing him off as another random cringe dude who is lying about who he is on the internet.

W/ 1 video it felt like he was actually doing his best, & being honest about who he was. As much as one can.

King like qualities on display here:
• haters are fans too mindset
• transformed blatant mockery into constructive criticism
• did not retaliate to personal attacks with personal attacks
• wildly classy, callback joke for just 5 seconds at OWN expense

• used Cody’s fame to build up his own subscribers/fan base
• words matched up entirely to actions, authentic, honest king
• probably living his best life with his hot wife, his coworkers and friends, doing his skincare and haircare, in peace, at just 27 years old

to reiterate idk ANY of these people well at all. but this simple internet interaction won me over.

Dre Drexler rly seems like a chill dude. i’d probably hang with him! mad props to him for dealing with something that would honestly crush me so incredibly well. King shit.

i would be terrified to hang out w/ Noel or Cody, tbh. i’m a slightly weird, eccentric person sometimes. i’m gregarious, outgoing, so i embarrass myself a lot, and i’m ok with that!

i don’t get the vibe from them that I’d feel completely safe being that way around them. u know?

but eh, who knows. just wanted to share the dope ass king like vibe I felt from Dre.
