Also, I 100,000 per cent love my reserve and genuinely think it’s the best place in the world because it is. It’s my home, where I come from, where my family comes from, but I also know my “reserve” isn’t contained to the small land mass the government allotted for us.

There’s so many great things I love about my rez and I feel so fortunate and even privileged to be from there and have lived/worked there. I miss it so much and it makes me sad to even think about it.

On my walk yesterday I ended up on a dirt road and the smell of an outdoor fire close by made me soooo homesick I actually started singing out loud, dusty roads, take me home to the place I belong, muddy waters! Bc Sandy Lake is known for its dusty roads and muddy waters .
