As of just two months ago, Gov. Brian Kemp signed into law House Bill 324, which makes it legal for six private companies, the University of Georgia and Fort Valley State University to grow marijuana to produce low-THC cannabis oil.

"Surterra Wellness has closed a $100 million Series D round and approved the expansion of its board of directors. The round was supported by existing and new investors, family investment offices and 👉 the startup's current director, Ed Brown, former Patrón Spirits Co. CEO."

Ed Brown’s father introduced him to golf at the age of 5 or 6 and he immediately fell in love with the game. He even tried playing professionally, competing in mini tour events and in Monday qualifiers 👉while living in Sea Island, Georgia, & Kiawah Island, South Carolina.
Brown’s plan to apply his expertise in the premier spirits business to Surterra’s strategic global brand building seems to be paying off.
We need a corporate name that unites the diverse parts of our organization and all of our associates,” said William “Beau” Wrigley Jr, CEO and Chairman of Parallel.
Parallel also announced today the introduction of
👉Goodblend, the company’s new global retail brand. This store brand will become a recognized source across multiple markets where consumers can find a consistent and trusted selection of the company’s cannabinoid brands.
Goodblend will roll-out initially 👉in Florida over the course of the next several months. Parallel has a house, or portfolio, of consumer brands. Each of these brands has its own instantly recognizable name, imagery, appeal, and unique and differentiated positioning. ⬇️
Our proprietary consumer brands include Surterra Wellness, Coral Reefer, Endless Summer and Float.

🤔 So why are they headquartered in Atlanta?

The deal combined NETA’s 700 employees with Surterra’s 800 employees. With NETA’s two dispensaries, Surterra now has close to 30 dispensaries in Florida, Texas, Massachusetts and Nevada.
Kevin Fisher announced as executive director of operations - Fisher is a veteran of the cannabis industry, and the co-founder and former CEO of NETA and Molecular Infusions, a canabinoid, biopharmaceutical company based in Boston. Surterra has acquired both of these companies.
Fisher had also founded New England Treatment Access which has a cultivation facility in Franklin,MA that received state approval just before the deal was complete.
BTW, if anyone is wondering what all of this stems from, Jake Bergman, the fiance of Nikki Fried, Florida's Agricultural Commissioner, is the founder/shareholder/former CEO of Surterra. https://twitter.com/100FrogLegs/status/1385741895490494465?s=20

Surterra = Parallel
I'm blanking on Valkyrie but I know we just talked about them.
oh brain fart, here it is.
Prior to Surterra, Jake founded and managed Valkyrie Capital LLC, a macro themed investment fund.

Today, Jake manages Iconoclast Ventures, a boutique cannabis investment and advisory firm to fund a non-profit that focuses on cannabis research.
Though Bergmann still maintains a stake in Surterra, which has since changed its name to Parallel, he stepped down as CEO on Nov. 5, 2018, just before Fried was elected. But this hasn’t stopped concerns of a conflict of interest over Fried and Bergmann’s relationship.
😂 Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried dismissed three top aides just before midnight Thursday, citing their complaints that her fiancé was “abusive” to her during a weekend argument at a Fort Lauderdale resort where police escorted him off the property.
