Really tired of seeing people with tin foil hat takes and large platforms further spreading mistrust of a vaccine that has over 30 years of science behind it and incredible numbers coming out of places like Israel where the majority of the population is vaccinated. https://twitter.com/PeterLBrandt/status/1387790468017049600
My grandfather walked with a cane his entire life because of contracting polio. He was lucky to not use his leg. I remember him telling me it was a miracle to have a vaccine against it. I remember doing reports on early vaccinations - cowpox to eradicate smallpox.
Now we're seeing these previously eradicated diseases come back and more hesitancy towards science and it just makes me sad. Sure be skeptical. No I don't think we should force people to do anything, but I just wish we believed the science.
*my grandfather was lucky not to LOSE his leg and the ordeal scarred him for life, hence his joy that these diseases would be gone. I miss him but have come to realize this was one of the best lessons he gave me.
