basically what i'm saying is jiang cheng is a verified child magnet. scowly and grumpy countenance notwithstanding. kids just find him nice for some reason?? they see his face and just decide "oh. oh! this one! this one is a good grape! he looks sour but he's a good grape!"

and even as the years go by the kids and junior apprentice are just like oh here comes grumpy old sect leader jiang wonder what he's up to i'm gonna go find out and the adults are like "no, wait--" but the child is already running to jiang cheng all "hey, sect leader jiang!!"

idk where i'm going with this but basically i think the kids like that jc doesn't treat them like kids?? he doesn't talk down on them the way adults tend to and they like that they can engage in harmless sassing w/ him. also they think it's hilarious everytime he rolls his eyes.

i think the kids find it refreshing. kinda like how wwx's chaotic energy shocks and amuses these kids who were taught to be proper and polite from the moment they're born. maybe there's something with the waters in yunmeng. why are young masters from yunmeng like this??
