an email claiming that the test was to be rescheduled to a later date. This at first, seemed something that could potentially happen given the rising Covid cases however to double confirm the schedule when she went on the British Council official website, there was literally no~
mention of a reshedule or the current tests being postponed, rather the main landing page had call to action links that literally encouraged people to sign up for an IELTS examination (which approximately is PKR 40,000 per test) - Pic 
Seeing all this, my friend & I started~

searching for individuals who might also be facing this type of a hurdle and what we found was SHOCKING.
Not only is British Council racking up examination fees from every student that they can get their hands on, they intentionally postpone half the examination (1 of 2 parts)~

This way the candidates can't claim a refund since they have given their speaking module & when they do they're claims are either delayed with sheer incompetence or not entertained at all.
All this while, on their main website if any new potential candidate show~

up they would happily charge them around PKR 40,000 & then provide an arbitary date in which they almost always never fulfil as per the schedule
The postponement of the exam hapened 24 hours ago with the email saying that they will keep the candidate updated however if you try~

to register for a new IELTS exam, they will provide you with a proper calendar schedule which is absolutely Fake dates that they never intend on taking the examinations on.

are open for examinations for 'new' students however examinations that have been postponed get ZERO updates from their website.
Also this is not happening two only a select few, British Council has been essentially doing this since Last year. Here are few people going through~

My friend that is experiencing this issue, literally resigned from her government employment to seek a PHD overseas and consideing that British Council is blatantly running this scam, it could literally destroy her career.

people doing IELTS are not that much but it doesn't give the right to any insititution to run a scam.
