According to insiders, Electric was originally supposed to be released on April 16 but was pushed back to the middle of May because Katy would like to be close to the American Idol finale on May 23 to promote it during the show since there will be a lot of auditions.

Apparently, there were also several problems with making the video about the animation of Pikachu (who will appear in the video) and there is a very big budget in the video.

The track was supposed to be the first single from Witness as Katy first mentioned it in 2016 but it was never released (reason unknown). It is possible that Katy Perry removed it as the track was not in keeping with the Witness era.

A very reliable insider with contacts in the music industry said that Electric was as perfect a pop song as Never Really Over and you can't stop listening to it. Apparently this is going to be Katy's comeback song and it's going to be a very big event.

According to insiders, the promotion will be average so on the day of the release we will have to do a huge promotion all over twitter and make a new big trend to support Katy.

Katy Perry also hinted at the song during her live promotion for her shoe collection by blinking 5 times ()
