i know its been talked about before but i just want to say how stupid it is that kids are taught preventative measures that wont work and will only isolate them rather than defensive ones

like, consider this; instead of telling young girls theyre gonna be assulted for what they wear/do? teach them how to stand up for themselves and put the assulter in their place.

instead of teaching kids they can never go outside alone, teach them how to recognize danger and get away from it/fight against it (given they are old enough)

dont tell them to never put themselves in a position where it could potentially happen- theyll be scared shitless any time they think they're putting themselves in danger. instead, show them how to deal with that danger if the need arises so they can still live their life.
