So now GOP states are putting forth legislation to stop schls from so-called tching critical race theory, racism, or anything they believe will teach young people to "hate" their cntry. First of all, it's ignorant, but okay...folks who really understand CRT, know how ignorant
they're being. That aside, CRT is a framework, NOT pedagogy. Tchrs can be critical w/out naming their practice as CRT. Educators, especially Black educators have traditionally engaged a critical race lens w/out explicitly naming it. Use state standards, especially
in history, use primary historical documents w/c will have all the language necessary to show stds EXACTLY what this country did & does, ask strong questions. The info is "there," & many state standards speak to the development of critical thinking. Teachers can use their state
standards to build deep knowledge about the history of this country's actions. Again, CRT is a framework for understanding, not pedagogy. There are ways to get around this ignorance & still authentically educate children.
