Good morning! I would like to congratulate Allegheny County Council on creating a police review board with fewer teeth than a day old kitten.

Seriously, the most the board can do is make recommendations on discipline to cop chains of command. What a joke.

I'm sure that the legislative kayfabe was fun for everyone involved but the board is not a serious proposal for reducing cop-caused harm.

This board structure has existed for decades with garbage results at reining cops in. Why do the same and expect different results?

I guess my questions for
@bethanyhallam are - do you expect this board to have a positive effect on removing cops from our society and reducing the harm they cause?

If yes, by what mechanism?

And if not, why were you enthusiastic about voting for it?
