[THREAD] @ivorprickett, an incredibly talented photographer who’s work is widely admired & recognized through numerous prestigious awards (including The World Press Photo & Pulitzer Prize), is a window into the lives of those in conflict zones we may have never seen otherwise.
He most notably came into light this year after his photography on the indiscriminate rocket attacks launched by #Armenian forces on the #Azerbaijani city of #Barda. The single incident took the lives of 21 innocent civilians and wounded a further 70. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/28/world/europe/azerbaijan-barda-armenia-rockets-karabakh.amp.html
In fact, a photo taken by Ivor won a spot among the “Top 100 News Photos from 2020” listing by @TIME magazine. Ivor, as he does around the world, was able to shed light once again on the suffering experienced at personal level by those who fall victim to war and turmoil.
Today, @ivorprickett is subject to a mass coordinated “smear” campaign of abuse, threats and misinformation by a group of #Armenian internet trolls. All are posting on the same day, all clearly have never read the book, all are doing this out of nothing but pure ethnic hatred.
What’s worse is that the book in question does not feature a SINGLE photograph from #Azerbaijan, nor makes any mention of #Armenia. It is a photo book called “End Of The Caliphate” that is a collection of his work documented in #Mosul, Iraq from 2016 to 2017. This is hate.
@ivorprickett himself has called out these trolls, as well as asked for help from @amazon in dealing with them, but we don’t have to sit aside and let him do it alone. Please visit the link & leave him the good reviews his incredible work truly deserves. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/3958294936/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8
