So I'm gonna put my Game Designer hat for a little bit and tell you all about why I think the Uma Musume training gameplay (and its stat distribution specifically) is really dang rad, actually.
There's so many small bits where you can tell they iterated over the gameplay. Intelligence training without its speed boost wouldn't be the minmaxing tool it is right now for example.
And Will training boosting two extra stats you can feel the moment where they realized that if they picked either or the balance would go out the window and if they picked any of the other two the whole structure breaks. But those two make more enticing an otherwise niche choice.
I might make a deep dive onto other parts of the gameplay at some point but for now I wanted you all to see my perceived rationale behind one of those things that tends to otherwise go uncommented on in games.
One of those things that seems so simple when you spell it out but it's precisely the fact that it seems simple that ironically lets you see just how much effort and thought went into fine tuning it.
Oh, there's also the fact that if we see Speed as sprint priority and Stamina as endurance priority, Power basically falls in between, important for both but key to neither.
