Minimum qualifications required for registration as medical practitioner :
The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery or equivalent qualification granted to the applicant by an educational institution.

The qualification referred to in must include at least one academic year of education, tuition and training in each of the domains of -
(a) human anatomy;
(b) human physiology;
(c) medical physics;
(d) general biochemistry;
(e) family medicine Or community medicine;

f) anatomical pathology;
g) internal medicine;
h) medical microbiology;

To REGISTER AS AN INTERN:
An application for registration as a medical intern must be made and be submitted to the registrar of the council
An application form submitted to the registrar must be accompanied by -
- a certificate, or a certified copy of the certificate.

- If you have been registered previously in a country other than Namibia as an intern or as a practitioner, a letter of good standing which the applicant had been so registered must have been issued not more than 120 days before the date of the submission of your application



REGISTRATION AS A MEDICAL PRACTITIONER
In addition to the above you need
Proof of completion of internship
A certified copy of certificate of registration to practice in the country where you obtained qualification
In addition to the above you need


REGISTRATION FOR SPECIALTY
In addition to all the above you need :
Proof you have practiced as a practitioner for 5 years or more
proof of post graduate qualification
Proof of training in a teaching hospital for 4-5 years in that specialty
