The issue is the refusal to connote Steve and Bucky’s relationship as romantic, although if any of them had been a woman, you would have seen it clearly as such. Furthermore, MCU needs to introduce queer characters. It’s a matter of representation AND realism.
And this is why I don’t want an X-Men reboot into the MCU until this isn’t a problem anymore. I’m willing to wait a decade to see Charles and Erik’s relationship portrayed CLEARLY as a love story.
