Leading writers, artists and thinkers from every EU member state have signed a letter to the EU leadership calling for Scotland to be unilaterally offered generous terms for re-entry to the EU: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2021/apr/29/the-eu-must-welcome-an-independent-scotland">https://www.theguardian.com/politics/...
The letter, initiated by @openDemocracy founder @AnthonyBarnett, has been signed by an impressive roster of people from every EU member state, from Slavoj Žižek to @fotoole: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2021/apr/29/eu-should-hang-out-welcome-sign-for-independent-scotland-letter-signed-cultural-figures">https://www.theguardian.com/politics/...
You can see the full list of signatories so far here: https://europeforscotland.com/list-of-signatories/">https://europeforscotland.com/list-of-s...
The number, prominence and distribution of the signatories reflects what I’ve found travelling across Europe for work in the last five years: there is a huge amount of solidarity for Scotland’s position, right across the continent.
