The Justice in Policing Act also known as The George Floyd Act won’t pass the senate as it currently is and here’s why: At least 4 Democrat senators have come out against one of the key components of the bill which would end the legal doctrine called Qualified Immunity 1/3
which shields police officers from civil lawsuits in excessive force cases. These senators are:

Joe Manchin
Krysten Sinema
Jon Tester
Mark Warner

So in other words the bill is dead as it currently is. Schumer will have to work with republicans and these 4 democrats to
come up with a bipartisan bill where they manage to garner at least 60 votes to pass. Unfortunately for progressives, qualified immunity will have to stay.
