Unfriendly reminder that people who are on disability benefits (which is very hard to get) live in POVERTY.

Disability benefits are a death sentence for many. Cause it keeps people in extreme poverty and makes it hard to have savings. Being disabled is extremely expensive.
Getting disability benefits unlike rumors & stereotypes isn't getting free or a lot of money. The amount of money disabled people receive is way below poverty. The system is set up to keep us so poor that many of us die.
Being forced to live in poverty so we can access life saving medical care isn't something we should have to face. Especially with how expensive it is to be disabled.

Disability benefits is forced poverty. Filled with cruel restrictions.
You can lose your disability benefits if you have too much in your savings account or if you live with a partner or get married.

There's no marriage equality for disabled people. We have to choose between our health care & disability benefits or marriage.
I'm just tired of being shamed or attacked for asking for help as a disabled women on disability benefits. Having disability benefits is not the glamourous life people think it is. We're struggling still. And go through so much to keep our health benefits.
