I& #39;m coming up on 5 years in my current home. My neighbourhood inspires a lot of walking and I knew that this view of the river, @CMHR_News and @TheForks would end up in a lot of my photos. I thought it would be fun to take a look at in each month. #Winnipeg 1/
January: I don& #39;t have a lot of January photos because the sun sets so far south at this time of year, so my camera is usually pointed away from the museum. #Winnipeg 2/
February: The sun is still way to the south so I& #39;m not taking as many photos, but sometimes you luck out and show up at your favourite vantage point on just the right day. I eventually found out that this was leftover from a proposal and that she said yes. #Winnipeg 3/
March: The days start getting longer and the sun is further north, creeping closer to my favourite angle. Depending on the year, the water conditions can be quite different. #Winnipeg #photography 4/
April: April often brings lots of water with spring flooding along with interesting skies. I also get to move my walks a little later in the day. #Winnipeg #photography 5/
May: May brings leaves and warmer weather, and usually the first rainstorms that can result in interesting clouds. One year, the spring flooding left behind some rather larger flotsam. #Winnipeg #photography 6/
June: The summer months bring thunderstorms and more activity along the river. I love the long days and taking sunset walks at 10 pm. #Winnipeg #photography 7/
July: I have seen some truly crazy skies in July. The warm summer temperatures can lead to epic storms and clouds that make you feel very small. #Winnipeg #photography 8/
August: Already the days are getting shorter, and my walks are getting earlier, but we still get some awesome summer #sunsets in #Winnipeg #photography 9/
September: I have surprisingly few photos of the river from Septembers, probably because I spend much of the month at the cottage. Still, the few I have feel pretty special. #Winnipeg #photography 10/
October: The days are getting much shorter, and in most years, the river is getting lower. It& #39;s a great time of year for night shots and it& #39;s also when the sun lines up perfectly when you walk over the bridge. #Winnipeg #photography 11/
November: This is when we start seeing a lot of change. In some years, the ice forms quickly; in others, we can go almost the whole month without it. It& #39;s also a good month for sunrise walks that aren& #39;t too early. #Winnipeg #photography 12/
December: The sun has shifted south of my usual vantage point, but still affords some lovely colours. Last December, the @CMHR_News added some new interest by lighting the building so beautifully. I hope they do it again. #Winnipeg #photography 13/14
Thanks for joining me on a year of my favourite view in #Winnipeg through my lens (of both my iPhone and Nikon). I hope you enjoyed it. You can be assured of many more shots from my side of the river to come. #photography 14/14
