Female characters that are under appreciated, thread

You should check out all these animanga, they're great :)
Miyamori Aoi (Shirobako)

Aoi is passionate about animation and didn't give up when she was having trouble finding a job. When she started working for an animation company, her gradual development from a newbie to a responsible and respected coworker was very satisfying to see.
Hanano Sumire (Chihayafuru)

HANANO!! At first we were made to believe she was just a shallow, love-struck girl. But she taught us that her dedication for what she wants is anything but shallow, and in order to pursue her love she will work hard and honestly.
Akito (Fruits Basket)

Akito. My favorite antagonist. Her character is amazing, her toxicity, manipulative and gaslighting tendencies, her hypocrisy and lack of self awareness. Watching her trainwreck of a mental state traumatize those around her is fascinating and scary.
Sugawara Niina (Maidens of the Savage Season)

You have a crush on a guy? Too bad, Niina does not follow girl code. She wants to have sex and she will try to bang your crush. She's very beautiful and reserved, and for that reason she's treated like an outcast.
Arte (Arte)

ARTE!! Ambitious and bubbly and determined!! She will not be treated as lesser just because she's a (gasp) a woman?! She works 100x as hard as the men around her just to prove herself as worthy as them. She's very caring and sociable, and honestly very charming.
Daidouji Tomoyo (Cardcaptor Sakura)

THE OG BESTIE. The bestest of bestfriends. She is nothing if not loyal, caring, and fashionable. All she wishes is for her bestie's happiness. Her love for Sakura is not possessive, it's pure and beautiful and I love her.
Kirihara Misaki (Darker Than Black)

Badass cop with glasses and a gun. Subtly a love-interest for the MC (subtlety is best). She's a no-nonsense woman with a hotness factor of 1000. She takes her job very seriously.
Anzu (Hinamatsuri)

Anzu learns to be considerate of her caregivers after living the homeless life. She is so sweet and caring of those important to her. She is also a badass esper.
Mishima Hitomi (Hinamatsuri)

She's hilarious. She's talented at anything she does and ends up CEO by the time she enters high school. Her struggles are relatable to those who have difficulty saying "no."
Myne (Honzuki)

She's bright, she's funny, she doesn't know what giving up is. All she wants to do is read books and she will do anything it takes to do so. She's a great problem-solver and knows just how to get along with people and make them her allies.
Takagi (Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san)

All she does is tease her crush in the hopes of getting him to fall for her. Although she usually acts clever, her crush does occasionally catch her off guard and you realize she's just an adorable middle schooler in love.
Doujima Akira (Kono Oto Tomare)

Talent?? Hard work?? Her inferiority crushes her, turns her bitter and insecure. With the help of the koto club she finds her way out of the darkness. She's an amazing teacher and doesn't give herself enough credit for her hard work and skill.
Madame Red (Kuroshitsuji)

Unrequited love, and lost. The loss of her family and her inability to bear children turns her sour and she begins to take it out on prostitutes. However her heart is still soft for her surviving nephew. She's a cunning and complicated woman.
Elizabeth Midford (Kuroshitsuji)

She is both soft and strong. Her greatest wish is to protect her love. She minds the smallest of details for the sake of Ciel. Even when her heart hesitates, she fights in her own way to protect him.

Please read kuroshitsuji 🙏
Nakahara Misaki (NHK ni Youkoso)

Are you a hikikomori? Don't worry, Misaki is here to save the day. She's such a selfless angel.. Or is she? Misaki is a very helpful girl, but that's mostly thanks to her desire to be needed, otherwise she perceives herself as worthless.
Eva Heinemann (Monster)

Toxic! Manipulative! A self-destructive and spoiled mess of a woman, my favorite character archetype. Despite her wasteful and harmful tendencies, she's very charming and her love for Tenma is endearing. Her journey is a very satisfying one to witness.
Mizuha (To Your Eternity)

Modern-day girl, listless with no future prospects just like the rest of my generation (lol). She's very relatable. She's also not very sane (that's a plus). Her bloodline causes her to be obsessed with Fushi like all her descendants were.
Agott Arkrome (Witch Hat Atelier)

TALENT?? HARD WORK?? AGOTT!! Her past is quite harsh, as a result her personality is quite uptight and caustic. She wishes to prove herself as worthy, despite lacking any apparent talent. She's very dependable and cute.
Richeh (Witch Hat Atelier)

Seemingly an airhead at first, her reason for her lifestyle is actually quite touching. She hates having to follow others' orders and would rather perform magic that is more "her" than anything else. She's insightful with a cool demeanor.
Yagihara Mami (Ao no Flag)

What an icon she is. The type of girl who doesn't get pressured into submission by her peers, she instead insists on being herself and criticizing the social norms. She struggles with her identity as many people in her life see her only as a girl.
