If I ever had infinity money, I would put together a team to develop chat software specifically designed for people with lots of contacts. Not that I'm a huge popufur, but I've got far more people trying to talk to me than I can ever keep up with, and no way to manage them all
The technology and design obviously exists to solve this problem. But all the existing chat apps just... don't. They don't even acknowledge that a problem like this could possibly exist.
For instance, both just put all your contacts in one huge, long list. That's fine if you have like... 10. I have hundreds in Telegram, and I'm constantly forgetting about people because there's no way to organize, group, categorize or otherwise manage my contacts. In 2021!
It drives me absolutely bananas. Who designs this software? Do they not actually USE it themselves? Does not a single person ever think "hey, this could be better"? It's so mindbogglingly incompetent.
