Hello hello! I haven’t talked about this in a while (especially since it’s all been on hold anyway due to the pandemic) so for my newer followers, I sing in a retro USO-style trio called @TheRadioRosies! https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🌹" title="Rose" aria-label="Emoji: Rose">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🎙" title="Studiomikrofon" aria-label="Emoji: Studiomikrofon">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🎶" title="Mehrere Musiknoten" aria-label="Emoji: Mehrere Musiknoten"> (thread)
My childhood best friend and I started the group, and together with another friend that we met through musical theater we’ve been doing shows for 8 years now!

We’ve performed at a lot of different venues over the years - it’s been quite a ride...
We’ve sung at USO
galas, in theaters and ballrooms, in an airplane hangar, in a fire station...
...in Memorial Day observances, in 4th of July parades (we won Best Musical Float once!)...
...at a televised Christmas tree lighting ceremony, at a submarine festival, in swanky hotels...
We even got to sing the National Anthem at a Milwaukee Brewers game! (Seeing myself on that giant screen in the last photo was a TRIP!!)

And we were supposed to sing it at a Milwaukee Bucks game in 2020 but it was canceled due to Covid. :(
We also do a lot of singing at retirement centers and nursing homes. Seeing the sweet residents’ faces light up when they recognize the songs, and having them tap their feet and sing right along with us, is so incredibly special. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="❤️" title="Rotes Herz" aria-label="Emoji: Rotes Herz">
We most often sing with our three beloved instrumentalists (on piano, drums, and bass). Sometimes we also get to sing in collaboration with full 20+ piece swing bands, which is an extra special treat!! https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🎺" title="Trompete" aria-label="Emoji: Trompete">
We sing arrangements from many of the sister groups of the era - Andrews Sisters, McGuire Sisters, Lennon Sisters, Dinning Sisters, Boswell Sisters, etc - and we really try to keep as true to the original arrangements as we can for the most authentic sound.
If you enjoy the music of the Great American Songbook (1930s-1950s) and would like to hear us in action, we’re doing our first ever live streamed concert this Saturday night, May 1st at 8pm EST/ 7pm CST. Would love to have you there!
