WIPB provides 3 #PaidSickDays. It's way too little, way too late.
Workers need at least 10 permanent paid sick days + 14 days during pandemics.
It falls short of recent Bills 239 & 247, which govt could have passed with simple yes vote on Mar 1 & Apr 26 respectively.

This is a temporary measure, set to expire Sept 25. This is not the permanent protection workers need.
16 states in the US have permanent, legislated & employer-paid #PaidSickDays. It can be done. It must be done.

WIPB is a band-aid

3 #PaidSickDays are now offered from the province. Once those are up, workers have to make a separate application to the CRSB where they will run into the same problems as before, including that it's retroactive & not seamlessly accessible.

Making matters EVEN WORSE, workers won't be able to access WIPB & CRSB in same week.
So, if a minimum wage worker takes 3 #PaidSickDays under WIPB = ~$300/wk. Then, rest of week is unpaid. AND, they have to forego $500 of CRSB that week.
Low-wage workers are now worse off
