Speaking of @chicagosmayor idea to instead rename Riverwalk for DuSable, Ald. David Moore said he had rarely been to the downtown walkway filled with restaurants and bars, and South Side kids hardly ever get to go there. Renaming LSD would bring city together, he said.
City just tried to introduce a new ordinance on naming LSD for DuSable, saying the original one inadvertently included parts of inner LSD. Ald Moore enraged at the attempt, shouted "This is fuckin bullshit!" Said it was a move by city to try to backdoor him.
SOmebody else on council then played "Kumbaya" while others yelled "Hey! Unacceptable! Decorum!" @Ald_Brookins21 then briefly recessed meeting.
Moore's plan to rename Outer LSD for DuSable passes Transportation Committee, heads to full City Council next month.
