I've no idea what Miami will do tomorrow - nobody does. But I think this: '20/21 has been so discombobulating. Thus, you have to take less risks with guys with high upside. You have to be safe in R1 with high floor players. That means DeVonta Smith & Najee Harris. Too much sense.
I've heard the talk about other guys: I'd take Pitts if he was there but I think Atlanta or Cincy might take him & I think Dallas is in play for a trade. Sewell & Chase? Great players but if I'm GM I'm reticent of guys who've won't have played in almost two years by Week 1.
As for 18: Najeh is a day 1 starter. I've heard Jenkins, Moehrig, Parsons (won't fall). I really like Leatherwood & E Moore. Collins fits like a glove. Two people I trust have said Owusu-Koromoah as a safety/LB hybrid. Paye would be a big get. But Harris just makes too much sense
What I will say though is that I absolutely could see Miami take Sewell at 6 & Collins at 18 - and watch the fanbase collapse - and then come back on day two & take Javonta Williams, Dee Eskridge and Amon-Ra St Brown/Nico Collins. There's a lot of ways to skin a cat.
And for all the people doubting Smith & his size but advocating Waddle who's about three inches shorter & MAYBE 10lbs heavier.....no. You take the technician. Take the route runner. The hands guy. Always over the speed guy who isn't the same technician/hands guy/route guy.
