I'm not saying Peter Jackson would play the school groundskeeper Tom Bombadil, but... he would.

Frodo is a transfer student with his dad Gandalf who transfers to Rivendell to take a job as a teacher. Merry and Pippin are his only friends, except for when he earns the respect of the quarterback, Legolas.

Obviously Elrond is the principal who is constantly dealing with the hobbits' antics and his daughter Arwen is starting her first ear as a literature teacher while carrying on a secret romance with Aragorn, the gym teacher.

Boromir is the campus police officer who is constantly abusing his power and causing trouble for our protagonists but doing nothing to stop Frodo's creepy stalker--Sméagol.

This honestly writes itself.

Everything changes when Frodo meets Sam and the show devolves into a will they/won't they spiral that lasts way too many seasons.

Of course when Frodo and Sam finally do get together viewership drops off so the writers have to contrive a reason for them to break up, but everyone hates it, though by that time everyone is graduating so they just have Frodo and Sam get married to please fans.

The show sags on for another two seasons but never really recaptures the magic that made it good in the first place but everyone still says it's their favorite show even if they only watched the series finale out of the last two seasons.

This got dark.
