Outing abusers as abusers is not “infighting,” it’s challenging and attempting to deconstruct systematic harm. Which is... what we’re supposed to be doing in a struggle for liberation.
Outing abusers as abusers is not “eating our own” because we don’t identify those who are committed to using power and control to harm others as “our own.”
Outing abusers as abusers and calling out those who will abet their abusive behavior is not being “divisive,” it’s creating a safety for survivors and establishing standards of ethical care in all relationships, political and personal.
Outing abusers as abusers does not gatekeep movements for liberation, it makes them more welcoming to the vast numbers of oppressed who are vulnerable to abuse, and builds communal trust that makes them stronger.
Outing abusers as abusers is not carceral logic, it opens up possibilities for accountability and change without compounding harm or trapping people into situations where they will be continuously harmed... the opposite of carceral logic, in fact.
