Attention, students and young people - this thread is for you! I know this past year has been tough. I know you’ve missed important milestones, made personal sacrifices, and suffered real losses. But we’re here for you and, with #Budget2021, we’re going to help you. Here’s how:

If you’re looking to gain skills and experience to enter the workforce, we’re going to create new training and work opportunities for you. If you’re a first-year apprentice, we’re going to create an Apprenticeship Service to connect you with employers and help you find good jobs.

If you’re working on paying back your student loans right now, we’re going to waive interest for an additional year. We’re also going to provide more flexibility on the repayment of federal student loans, so no one has to make a payment they can’t afford.

We’re going to double Canada Student Grants for two more years, which will help hundreds of thousands of students pay for tuition, school supplies, and living expenses. And for students with disabilities, we’re going to expand access to supports, grants, and repayment assistance.
