This will *shock* you, but the Marlins thought Marty Foster made a good call.

Mattingly: "It seemed pretty clear. It's one of those plays you can't make the runner avoid you there, so, not quite sure the letter of that rule, but it seemed pretty clear that you can't do that."
Isan Díaz: “He was just in my lane. If I kept going, we probably would have just continued to just collide [with] each other. He was right there, and I think the umpires made a good call.”
Umpire Marty Foster said he's seen replay of the call. "We dissected it a little bit as a crew. I’m 100 percent sure that the runner was impeded on his way to first base."
