Im sitting here in my adorable vintage themed French bakery listening to Ella belt out the tunes and trying not to cry. We are facing a 3rd round of shutdowns of all of our restaurants starting Friday.

I can't believe I'm even facing this at this point in the pandemic but I

live in Oregon. We must abide by our governors executive dictates and shutter dining AGAIN! (She did say to rural Oregonians that revenge was a dish best served cold after we refused her economy crushing climate bill).

OSHA has been empowered to be her henchman so we face

MASSIVE fines (in the thousands) for not abiding by her extreme and restrictive rules.

There is NO ONE who advocates for us. Not a city council member or mayor or our chamber of commerce.

There's no way to make this right financially (haven't taken home a paycheck in months)

I don't mind, and expected, to work very hard at this. I didn't expect the government to force me to shut down and then not make it right. And I REALLY didn't expect to be facing a shutdown this late in the game.

I had another restaurant owner in my shop after hours a few days

ago having a nervous breakdown. Two years before the pandemic they'd invested their entire retirement into their restaurant. Today they are facing an almost certain closure and bankruptcy. And several other restaurants in town are facing the same.

This after they'd spent 30 yrs

rebuilding this mill town after the spotted owl fiasco. In 2019 this gem of a tiny downtown had someone in each and every single building on main street and we'd won awards for the beautification of buildings. Today there are several empty storefronts & soon there will be more

Im not shutting down this time. I refuse. Ive no idea if we will get fined or how we'd even pay for it. We will end up closed either way & on the hook for the lease or on the hook for fines. Its a no win.

I'm tired & I'm out of ideas.

We need help. We need ppl to back us up.

I really just want to work and earn my money. Myself. No government anything. No funds. No donations. I have an AMAZING product and great customer service. We shouldn't need help. But we aren't even being allowed to operate normally.
