1/ I've been having a conversation with an artist and it led to a realization for me:
Artists are mostly not anonymous, but many collectors are.
This is probably obvious to most of you already, but this situation is really not ideal.

2/ This mismatch between anon collectors and real-life artists putting themselves out there creates a weird power dynamic. I, collector, can sit behind my punk avatar and be myself. You, real-life artist, have to face criticism face-on.
3/ I don't have a good answer for how we fix this. I think that building a supportive community and collectors SEEING artists for the people they are helps, though. I meant every bit of what I said last night: https://twitter.com/0x5caff01d/status/1387356583143763970
4/ My own baggage around feeling comfortable with tying my IRL persona to my crypto one causes me to remain anon. It's not a good excuse, though, because plenty of people in this space are not anon.
5/ Sadly, I don't yet feel comfortable being not-anonymous
. I know this lessens my interactions with others here, and for that I am sorry.
