An "ESL" concept that I would put forward if I was president and not Florentino Perez

A 20 team open league at top of the Euro pyramid. Teams in the league DONT play in domestic leagues, but DO play in domestic cups. Home & Away, crown pts winner.

Bottom 4 could get relegated
Bottom of the ESL, auto relegated back to their domestic league.

Winner of the Champions League (played by all clubs not in ESL) is auto promoted into ESL. Other semi finalists play other bottom 4 in home & away to see who makes the new ESL.

Most important part: Revenue split
ESL TV rights in Europe are owned by the domestic league in their country. In other words, ESL TV is bundled with EPL in England & the EPL gets all the revenue for their teams (which should increase split across teams)

Int'l ESL TV is split by ESL teams. This should be A LOT.
Champions League now, brings in $3B. I do think a 20 team full ESL tourney could bring in $9B+ & the domestic leagues would be made more than whole in this split.

Also domestic cups become instantly way more interesting & valuable to sell.

Now it comes with challenges
Operationally, the 4 relegated and 4 promoted into ESL could come from any domestic league, so you have to solve uneven domestic leagues (complicated but doable).

But in essence, it solves a few things. It gets everyone more money. The domestic leagues become more competitive
It theoretically could get better revenue sharing. Its based on full merit, and if everything is connected under one pyramid a future Euro wide salary rules become more possible.

Anyway, I'm free and available if the mega clubs are hiring
(also i forgot to mention, the initial 20 into the ESL will be done via the last version of the old "champions league". all 16 teams in CL knockouts are in. the eight 3rd place teams do a home & away to select the final four. must watch TV)
