I see a lot of people in metalcore Twitter comparing Oliver Sykes' admitted physical abuse in his previous marriage to the many, many predators that have been outed in the scene. Here's the problem w that though, both parties (Hannah included) admitted they both slapped eachother
yelled in eachothers' faces, and cheated on one another. They said they were equally as guilty as the other and equally as hurt. These statements of course have since been deleted but the point is a very toxic marriage on BOTH sides, is not comparable to forceful rape/SA like
the stories that have come out about Josh from ADTR or Austin Carlile. Don't get me wrong, an abusive marriage is obviously harmful and not something I advocate or support either, but that's a situation where both parties are victims. It's just not the same. Grey areas exist
I'll wrap this thread up by saying that while both are bad things obviously, I do think it's harmful to compare a consensual marriage/life partnership with bad things on both sides, to a sexual assault situation where there was only ONE side whether or not it was liked.
