It is fulfilling unlike most any other profession I can think of.
I get to spend my days reading books to and discussing literature with kids. I wake up excited to go to work and that is a true privilege.

Obviously, I& #39;d like more pay but who wouldn& #39;t? I& #39;m satisfied with what I have and know that I could leave and go into a higher paying profession but I don& #39;t because of the above tweet. I make plenty. Also, those benefits, tho
I get summers off and vacation built-in, which is nothing to bat an eye at. It allows me to pursue hobbies, home projects, and, most importantly to me, an investment in parenting. Again, that& #39;s a wonderful privilege that I don& #39;t overlook.
Most people seriously respect the profession. Sure, some idiots in the media dunk on teachers but I don& #39;t take the opinions of a few whack jobs to represent the many.
Do what you want with this thread. Quote tweet it to dunk on me. Whatever.
I just can& #39;t keep reading these threads about how everyone is against us and we& #39;re at war and everything is miserable. It& #39;s not. No one will want to join the profession if that& #39;s our rhetoric.

This job is amazing. I play tag at recess, laugh in class, get my mind blown by student analyses, read the poems that kids write. Not to mention it is wonderfully intellectually engaging planning, managing classrooms, etc. Every day is a delight.
