THE MIRROR SEASON is a novel. It’s fiction. But yes, there’s a reason I wrote abt a survivor who’s a queer Latina girl & a survivor who’s a boy.

I’m both. I lived both.

But what happened to me didn’t make me queer. It didn’t make me trans.

I came this way

I wrote this book for my fellow survivors, esp. those of us who’ve felt there wasn’t space for our stories & truths

That was where I lived for a long time. Some days I still do, processing being a boy survivor alongside being a queer survivor of color.
