From yesterday's @AFP report, an Ethiopian army General has said his own troops were prevented from moving into certain areas of Tigray by Eritrean soldiers. He said he requested permission from Eritrean commanders to move freely and awaits a response.

It gives weight to claims made by TPLF official @reda_getachew in a recent interview, that the Eritrean military is running the whole show in Tigray and that Ethiopian commanders simply take orders and have little say in proceedings.
Further bolstering the claim...journalist Sean Williams sought to venture towards a town in Tigray, but was urged against doing so by Ethiopian police who warned that the Eritrean soldiers present in the town were dangerous and might rob him. https://twitter.com/swilliamsjourno/status/1387117840021532685?s=19
At this point...talk of preserving sovereignty becomes a moot point. Also, press conferences given by Ethiopian military commanders who have no real control or say in Tigray...a whole other talking point.
