I went to a @braves game last night, and I’m flying @delta today. I’ve loudly, smartly and convincingly used my platform to rebut the lies about the GA election law, just as @mlb and @delta CEOs used theirs to do the opposite.
This may seem a paradox or contradiction to you, but it most certainly isn’t. I believe in conservative principles, I believe our new law is just and fair, and I believe the Commissioner and some Atlanta based CEOs were misinformed or malicious in their words and actions.
But I also believe in my state. I believe in my people, and our shared culture. I can fight a Georgia Dem on issues and even question their intent through words in the public arena while sitting beside them doing the tomahawk chop or across the isle on a flight to Dallas.
The businesses based in Georgia have Georgians working for them. Like Marine Corps Veteran Tyler who works @TruistPark and goes above and beyond to help disabled people enjoy the game. Or @enderinciartem who didn’t ask my politics before coming back to sign my jersey
Or the African American @delta female flight attendant who hugged my neck, fighting back tears after seeing my legs... then thanked me as she told me she loves seeing me on @FoxNews. Or the @delta Pilots who’ve bought me countless meals and offered a beverage for my flights.
Yes, I’m a conservative. Yes, I vote Republican, and have had harsh words for many Democrats. But more than anything I’m a human being, an American and a proud Georgian. I am as consistent, fair and understanding with people as I am convicted, fierce and unrelenting with policy.
I urge you to simply consider this as you attempt to scold or “shame” someone for doing something you don’t understand as it pertains to this snowballing cancel culture (and counter cancel culture) we’re enduring. Be better on your worst day than your worst inclinations. 🇺🇸👍🏼
