i think hq is so special to me and a lot of other ppl because we found it at the right time in our lives and were able to grow with the story

hq is sort of unique in that it kind of perfectly encapsulates the feeling of adolescence. because when you’re young and passionate
about something like your high school activity, it really does feel like your entire world. it’s your friends, your afternoons, your mornings, your weekends. it’s /everything/

and then, it’s not.
it ends. and that’s okay.
i’m eternally grateful for the timeskip bc we get to see a range of characters who found what they love when they were young and continue to do it, but also people who graduated and went off in a career completely unrelated to what they perused in their teen years.
and yet, they all share this common, widespread love and adoration for what they accomplished back then. this feeling of nostalgia and support for a community that’s experienced the same loss and heartbreak, but also the same incredible, inspiring moments as well.
hq is really all about finding your passion. it happens to be through the avenue of volleyball, but the lessons about giving your all and finding your happiness is something i genuinely believe applies to whatever someone does within their life. it’s a message we all need
to hear and while i’m glad to have heard it when i was young, it’s something that honestly applies to anyone of any age.

it’s the whole idea that you should take the challenge that lies before you head-on and do your best, even if you might fail or even if it
wont work out the way you want it to.

at the end of the day, if you’re passionate about what you do and you’re happy doing it, that’s all that matters.
// on a more personal note, as someone who came back to hq after years of silence it was incredibly heartening to see so many characters take on a variety of challenges in their adult life. as someone who’s going into a field that I never previously expected to enter, it’s
somewhat satisfying and gratifying to be encouraged by a media piece like hq, something i’ve grown up with over the last six or so years.

idk i just really love haikyuu a whole lot that’s all
