Noelle was a royal born into the Silva household but was the child of a cursed woman Acier who was given this curse by Noelle’s first true enemy of the series Vanica (more on this later).
Noelle’s in love with Asta as Asta was the man who saves her from her own personal hell very early on in the story giving her the ability to grow out of her shell of being hated due to being “the cause” of death of her mother purely for being born she’s been hated since birth
so it’s not quite outlandish to be in love with the person who is the first person to stand up to your oppressors which also ties her in with the theme of the story of discrimination as well, as she was being discriminated even within the high amount of mana system
just because she couldn’t control it and was never given guidance from her family because they hated her making her feel insecure and developing her own superiors complex to make others feel how she feels at home.
Slowly throughout the series though you can see Noelle realizing how wrong what she’s doing is starting with Mr. Despair himself Vetto and her seeing how the Black Bulls are all fighting to protect those who they just met very recently something that she realizes -
she wouldn't have done
in the BEGINNING of the series
You can see this slowly happening with Noelle all throughout the series in every fight she’s in even now having to seemingly consciously still do her “i’m royalty” spiel.

Leading us to what i believe to be her two most important fights in the series, at least, for now definitely, her fight against Kivn, a fight where she must protect the family who she hates.
This fight is the fight that truly shows the resolve of Noelle as she even starts to truly look like her mother and unlock a water version of her mother’s armor. Noelle is fighting to prove herself to herself proving that she can save people just like Asta no matter who they are.
And now the fight against Vanica, Noelle’s first fight against her own villain, Vanica is the woman who’s caused Noelle all of her troubles in the first place,
the woman who cursed and killed her mother and the woman who is now threatening her world and her newly found friend the Heart Kingdom Queen. This fight with Noelle is much more than the fight against Kivn because Vanica has truly done something to Noelle herself.
and to add on to noelle, a great dynamic that goes hella unnoticed, is her relationship with En, (mushroom dude from tournament), it appears veryyyyy surface level, but hear me out, the fact she couldn't live up to the silva name caused her many insecurities and made her
caused her many insecurities and made her look down on others she saw as weak or inferior as well cause thats how she was treated
created her own superiority complex in order to not feel totally worthless and have a way to grasp at something to feel worthwhile in the world

aii but back to en, noelle starts off as a tsundere due to her emotional trauma. so she puts up a front to the outside public that she is very confident, when in reality, when we see her thoughts, influx and inner monologues and feelings,
she is just a shy, timid, little girl, in her own head, and her psychology, almost like grey tbh,
on the subject of grey, who knows, might make a grey analysis/thread

now compare that to en. en is veryyyy sure of himself, but he also he doesn't express it as well, kinda like noelle. so he expresses it thru his shouting mushrooms, which when u look at en at first glance,
his thoughts and shouting mushroom come across as off and a great divide in what u thought would happen and what's actually going on, same with noelle
