Have you considered moving to Miami?

Here are 5 things that I have learned about being a tech founder in Miami...
Diversity

Miami is arguably the most diverse city in the world, as over 58% of residents were born in a country outside of America. Over 66% of the city is Hispanic.

This diversity leads to a cultural melting pot with incredible food and a wide variety of art...
This is one of the things I loved about living in NYC and now get to enjoy in Miami: having people around me with diverse backgrounds, ideas, and working across many industries.
Low Taxes

While SF and NYC are preparing budgets to increase taxes yet again, Miami has no income taxes at the state or city level.

Under Mayor @francissuarez's leadership, Miami has reduced taxes to the 2nd-lowest levels since the 1960s.
Warm, Sunny Weather

Florida is nicknamed "The Sunshine State"

In Miami, it’s sunny nearly 250 days per year. July is the hottest month in Miami with an avg. temp of 82°F and the coldest is January at 68°F...
People flock to Florida each year to enjoy the sunshine, palm trees, and clear ocean water.

To me, sunshine is a source of energy, it impacts my mood and desire to stay healthy, do activities outdoors, and overall lead a healthier life.
Low Crime

Compared to cities such as SF and NYC, Miami is a safer place to live. Last year, Miami had the lowest homicide rate since 1954 and reduced overall crime by 25%

Miami also increased funding to the police department and has more police officers than they've ever had...
Miami has about 555 homeless people in the entire city, compared to SF and NYC which have tens of thousands.
Tech Forward and Capital-Friendly

As Mayor @francissuarez recently put it, "We want to become the capital of capital. We want to be on the cutting edge of tomorrow's technology...People come here and start realizing that there’s way more tech talent than they thought."...
Because of this forward-thinking mentality, thousands of venture capitalists, founders, angel investors, and startup employees are relocating to Miami.
These are the reasons why I am long Miami. There are so many reasons to be here, especially if you work in tech.

4 members of the Eight Sleep team live here, and more are relocating soon including @alex_horowitz1
