If we accept that there are not enough women Faculty in a disciple, like Materials Science and Engineering, what practical steps do we take at the recruitment stage?

(Yes - I note that support of existing women is important, and something I will ask in a bit!)
I am especially interested in interventions that encourage successful recruitment of all gender, address intersectional issues, and if there are any papers/reports on these sorts of interventions I am interested too.
(yes - I am also doing my own primary reading on this too - so this crowd sourcing is supplemental and often very thought provoking!)
