Sgt. 1st Class Johnson was nominated for an Eisner Award, the comics equivalent of an Oscar. But when Johnson got the call to become the lead writer for a legendary character, he instantly felt the weight on his shoulders. (2/6)

“I felt this tremendous excitement, down to a molecular level,” Johnson said. “It's definitely a huge responsibility that I take extremely seriously, but the anxiety that sometimes comes with a really big opportunity never came." (3/6)

Johnson looks forward to putting his talents to the test. As a trumpet player in the U.S. Army Field band, Johnson weaves storytelling into his musicianship as well as his upcoming work. (4/6)
