Thinking about the product of consistency is mind bending.
Consistency is not equal to intensity...
My favorite example of this idea comes from watching the practice of the greatest wrestler I’ve ever gotten to observe, Cael Sanderson. I see consistency as being the most important factor in his skill development.
If you’ve even watched him coach you’ve probably noticed his lack of ✌🏽intensity✌🏽
An engineer on our team that does the most impressive technical work does not bring a ‘high’ intensity attitude. Rather, he consistently makes small logic decisions that result in a mind-bendingly complex system that can carry out an automated sequence with one simple click.
What’s crazy about those examples is they result in a simple product. An automated system you can control with one button. A wrestler that just wins. The complexity that produces those results can only be built with consistency.
I typed all of this and I’m not even sure if it makes any sense 😂
Consistency is never complete.
