The Process

[THREAD]
At the time of this thread being made, it’s been 4 years, 1 month, and 19 days since Arsenal’s last Champions League game against Bayern Munich.

Since then, Arsenal have failed to qualify for the competition under 3 separate managers and have fallen deeper into irrelevance.
Right now, Mikel is in a very crucial position.

If Arsenal fail to win the Europa League, it’s very likely that they’ll miss out on European competition for the first time since 1996.

That little European income will not suit them anymore.
A lot of fans consider this to be a “long-term project” as opposed to Emery’s reign when they didn’t use that same excuse.

They try to hide the fact that they were unfamiliar with Emery, and they couldn’t understand his speech abilities.

Which plays a factor in favoritism.
Since Arteta was hired, he has spent £179.4M total, on transfers, loan deals, extensions, etc.

£100.1M on purchases.
He’s also made it very clear that he had proper backing from the owners and the board, which breaks the myth about him never being backed or having his own squad.
Last season, Arteta was the manager for 52.6% of the league season.

The club finished 43 points behind Liverpool, which is the largest gap between themselves and the champions in the history of the three-point system, which was introduced in 1981.
Before the FA Cup trope gets thrown at me, here’s this:

Portsmouth and Wigan have won the FA Cup in the last 13 years.

Both were relegated, entered administration, and haven’t returned to the top flight since.

(Portsmouth were close to being liquidated in 2012.)
If this season is a “long-term rebuild,” then:

1. What were the 16 proceeding years where we failed to win the league? (15 of which we failed to mount a title challenge, 8 of which we failed to win a trophy)

Why only now have we enlisted the word “rebuild” into the fanbase?
2. Why were fans expecting a top 4 finish?

Surely it isn’t a “rebuild” if you want this club to earn £30M+ to not only fail in the Champions League, but to gratify the owner and improve his wealth despite wanting him to sell.
3. Why have the audacity to poke fun of rivals for being in a similar situation as ours?

It is banter, yes, but don’t forget what the majority of this fanbase is calm and accepts 9th place in April.

The same fanbase that mocked Chelsea for finishing 10th years ago.
4. What IS the “process?”

I’ve seen so many people slam others in the fanbase for not “trusting the process,” but after 16 months, they’ve essentially failed to properly explain what the “process” actually is and what it can possibly lead to.
If Emery completes his poetic remontada against Mikel, it should sack him, but at the same time, the board could turn a blind eye and keep him for another year based of how “well” they’ve done outside the pitch.
🚨 Every Tuesday, the club does their usual hypnotic PR session which not only improves the commercial revenue of the club, but also causes the biggest Arsenal accounts on Twitter to do the same.
The improvement of commercial revenue within the club gratifies the board and the owners en masse.

The same thing can be said for Mikel’s press conferences and how many kits they’ve sold last summer.
Now, we get onto the players.

It’s all well and good being told that Mikel is the best young coach itl and plays “liquid Barcelona footy,” but when we’re also told that the players are at fault for the bad season, then that becomes simple confusion.
Bellerin, Xhaka, Holding are the three of the biggest liabilities from the backend of Wenger’s tenure that Mikel kept.

“Mikel is getting rid of deadwood” but apparently Xhaka and Bellerin should be made captains and should have 4 more years at the club.

“Long-term rebuild”
Under this system, Aubameyang has 10 G/A in 25 league games this season after “signing da ting.”

Willian, a washed-up Chelsea reject, is getting starts and minutes as if he’s prime Paul Scholes.

That’s not development to me.
Guendouzi, deemed toxic, is playing the best of his ability in Germany after getting binned by Mikel.

Willock is scoring goals and singlehandedly saving Newcastle from relegation. He’s more happy with Steve fucking Bruce than he ever was with Mikel.
And finally, Martinelli barely getting minutes in all comps even after getting injured is nothing short of a hindrance of another promising young talent in the club.

At the slightest, I would not be shocked if he asks to leave the club sometime soon if Mikel stays.
In conclusion, there is no process. Top gooners knows what they’re talking about and are really trying to improve their clout on social media parading the whole “Believe in the project” thing.
If fans were ambitious, they would’ve hounded out Arteta as soon as he was in relegation form in December.

They would also stop masturbating over one big signing and stop buying new kits and renewing their season ticket to help Kroenke.

But sadly, they’re never ambitious.
Trust the process. #KroenkeOut #ArtetaOut
