Fun fact: the same thing happened with insulin. The makers sold the patent to University of Toronto for ONE dollar out of ethical reasons. Today patients need to shell out hundreds of dollars per month for simple insulin, because big pharma prefers profit over human lives.

There have been hundreds of reports of people developing complications such as blindness, nerve disease, kidney failure, losing their foot, and multiple deaths because the patient simply couldn’t afford the insulin. That’s capitalism for you.
