In the search for a solution of the country’s lingering challenges, The Nigerian Senate has rules out the impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari.

With utmost dedication of the day the senate took time to discuss plenary debate issues of insecurity, in motion of this which was raised by Senator Sani Musa discussed the urgent need to seize the activities of terrorists in some communities of Niger state, north-central…

…Nigeria.

The senator thereafter submitted that initiating impeachment proceedings against the President will result into another form of crisis that is enough to heat up the already tensed polity.

His motion is captured as the “Urgent need for the federal government to deploy troops & other security apparatus to immediately bring to an end the menace of insurgency & terrorism in Niger state & other parts of Nigeria.“

While at the zenith of debating his motion, Senator Musa restated the Niger state Governor’s narrative to which he said that the Boko Haram sect had mounted its flag in numerous villages which they apprehended and is now under their control in the north-central state.

Worry came to most of the Senators who participated in the debate, due to the lingering issue of security in spite of the numerous measures taken by the National Assembly, in supporting government efforts.

A minute of silence was dedicated to all the victims affected so far, before then the Senate adopted all the prayers contained in the motion as presented by Senator Musa.

The senate sorted out other resolutions which included a call on the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Army Staff and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to hurriedly deploy troops to help defend the unarmed populace & return security to the affected communities which is…

…communities and areas that have been affected in order to curb the escalating insecurity.

It also made a resolve to direct the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs & the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), as this is a matter of national emergency, and to provide relief materials & a medical support team to help the victims as quickly as possible.
