In 2020 a psychiatrist prescribed me medication that resulted in multiple hospitalisations and left me unable to work. Recovery from this, as well as major surgery, has taken the past year of my life. But I'm a dole bludger. #ACAdolebludgeon @AusUnemployment @sallymcmanus

For 8 years I've engaged every avenue of medical and psychological care available to address my health issues while staying employed. In 2020, side effects from prescribed medications destroyed my ability to work. I did not choose unemployment. Why should I be punished for this?

I, and so many others like me, have fallen afoul of chance circumstances while we have been striving to improve our lot in life. Our current system doesn't just fail those who need the most support, it punishes us for existing. This system is creating problems, not solving them.

But sure, put the boot in @ACurrentAffair9 against the poor on behalf of those who pull 6 figure salaries off the public purse. What's a few more broken ribs for those are already bleeding?
