Can you build a company culture while hybrid? Well, both CEO’s & Employees say NO. According to @PwC 68% of executives say employees should be in the office at least 3 days a week to maintain a distinct company culture.
While few executives think company culture will not survive a purely remote work set up. Including @Google & @netflix Companies like @Starbucks @Twitter & @Siemens are moving to permanently give employees the option of working from home some or all of the time
Building a company culture while hybrid is going to be hard but not impossible. Here are 3 things to consider 👇
1) 🟢“On-line employees are = distracted employees: Our digital connectedness kills focus. According to @Gartner: Employees are interrupted every 40 seconds while digitally connected by pop-up notifications: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/how-covid-19-disrupted-your-employees-experience/id1144653856?i=1000514976969
Once you “Got Mail”📬 it's hard t go back to business. A study by @UCIrvine shows it takes an average of 23 minutes &15 seconds to get back to the task in hand after an interruption.
Study after study shows working from home increases productivity, but not really where It matters. example: lower performance was noted among elite chess players when competing from home as the home environment is less conducive to peak performance in cognitively demanding tasks
While i was writing this thread i got three @MicrosoftTeams notifications + a calendar reminder & endless @WhatsApp msgs
2) While culture is intangible, it's your most valuable intangible asset: Think of culture as your team’s operating system that lets team members do their best work. Not being present for informal interactions leaves teams feel isolated lacking the connections needed to innovate.
Companies may never come up with a better office communication program than a lunch break.”

3) Learn from the best practices out there: A good example is @simonsinek Huddle: The huddle is weekly video conferencing call to connect more deeply with one another. here is short demo
