Don’t worry if you missed yesterday’s WiPA webinar with the fantastic Emma Ewing from Big Fish Training on nurturing your career during turbulent times. We have some key highlights:
For many people, lockdown has been tough and we need to recognise that this may have caused additional pressures in the workplace.

You should assess what resources you have in place to keep yourself motivated. If your issues increase, your resources need to increase.
Take a resources inventory. Look at the external resources and internal resources you can draw upon (e.g support network, exercise, childcare) Identify the strengths and gaps!
Find an ‘accountability partner’ someone in the sector who isn’t a colleague or a friend that you can talk to in order to check in with your career and goals. They’ll also be a good sounding board.
Take mini appraisals for yourself, remember all the great things you have achieved recently. Kindness is key for keeping yourself motivated
Think about your professional relationships, the aspects of your work you find meaningful & what you want to achieve by the end of the year.
Now set goals for yourself for the next 90 days AND make sure they’re appropriate, don’t set yourself up for failure. Take small steps.
And finally, your goals don’t need to be boring, but they have to be appetising. Make sure your goals are what you want not something you feel you should have!
