The Narendra Modi government, in very clear words, repeatedly, must state that lockdowns are a bad option, and the state governments must avoid the same. In the garb of doing something, these lockdowns are punishing the wrong people and the wrong businesses.

Even though the centre has chosen to distance itself from the lockdown business, political consequences of an economic dent will come back to haunt Modi in 2024. People are suffering from the virus, yes, but more people are being made to suffer due to these mindless lockdowns.

The dumbest decision ever has to be the 'night lockdowns'. Imagine allowing normal activities to run during the day and then banning all movement during the night. I wonder if they are able to do it with a straight face. The night economy is as essential as the day economy.

The other day, in a CH room, some local BJP guy had the audacity to blame people for going out during Feb-March. Well, we need people to go out, to spend, to spend in hotels, eateries, and so on, because they have suffered the most, and they need to bounce back.
