Only a small minority of parents and heads think time preparing for SATs should be included in schools’ ‘catch-up’ programmes.
Only 11% of parents were unhappy that SATs and other primary tests didn’t go ahead this year.
When asked what they most want from their children’s education, parents placed ‘good SATs scores’ came last (5%). Love of learning (52%), friendship (48%), confidence to start secondary school (42%) and a sense of self-worth (42%) were the highest ranking.
Most primary head teachers think SATs have no value in terms of the quality of information they give to secondary schools about pupils, while 30% believe having no SATs means it will actually be improved
. @MoreThanScore is placing 3 demands on Government.
